The Singapore Edition Hotel CAP Atelier, Hong Kong & Safdie Architects, Boston
As a global luxury lifestyle hotel brand, EDITION is an unexpected and refreshingly bespoke collection of hotels. Designed by Ian Schrager, the "Father of Boutique Hotels" in collaboration with Marriott International, EDITION Singapore will be EDITION's first hotel in Southeast Asia, combining Ian Scrager's renowned personalization, intimacy and personalization with Marriott's global reach, operational expertise and scale.
The hotel is housed within a modern bronze and glass façade conceived by renowned Safdie Architects and local studio DP.
The bronze and glass façade gives way to a white marble lobby with a gold-leaf dome and soaring windows.
Architecture and interior design is a seamless connection with nature, with sweeping views and greenery throughout, including sky gardens and lush sunken gardens, providing a tranquil retreat to Singapore's bustling Orchard Road shopping district.
A white Venetian plaster spiral staircase descends to a garden oasis.
Christian Liaigre designed the leather chairs and lamps throughout the pink velvet lobby bar, complete with a rose-coloured Calacatta marble billiard table.

The rooftop pool hangs nine floors above the courtyard and contains a transparent acrylic eyehole that allows swimmers to fish-eye to admire the greenery below. (The mosaic exterior of the pool may be reminiscent of another local landmark – Safdie Architects is also behind Marina Bay Sands and its iconic surfboard-like sky garden).

The rooms are designed to be comfortable and serene, blending sophistication with simple elegance. White oak plank floors are covered with warm white carpets, and beds are covered with hand-stitched brocade blankets. Well-designed curtains, blackout curtains and adjustable blinds create a cool and soothing atmosphere in every room.
