Raffles' first hotel in North America celebrates Boston's extraordinary talent, culture and character. The mixed-use Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences is Raffles' first property in North America, with 33 floors and a $400 million+ cost. Located in the heart of the Back Bay neighborhood, surrounded by historic brownstone buildings, legendary cultural institutions, bustling sidewalk cafes and chic boutiques, the hotel offers an unparalleled experience for guests who want to explore the City of Notions.

From Singapore to Back Bay, the lines are familiar and loved: the iconic Traveler's Palm is a symbol of the oasis. Make it easy for guests to enjoy familiar comforts. The hotel retains the brand's strong Asian design identity — lush greenery, dark wood, and delicate gold and black accents — but Boston's history comes with it.

Stonehill Taylor's approach to interior design blends seamlessly with the Backbay neighborhood, creating spaces that reflect the new while respecting the old. The design is inspired by Boston's historic cultural environment and the city's emerald necklace, which carries botanical influences throughout the hotel. The materials and patterns used in the art and sculpture design are in harmony with Boston's history and architecture. Copper accents are used throughout to pay homage to Paul Revere's copper-plated company, historical illustrations adorn custom wallcovering (paper), whimsical lighting inspired by flowers, and greenery referencing the glamorous window frames throughout Back Bay. The emphasis on art and sculptural design throughout the hotel creates a revolutionary and timeless feel.

One of the design highlights is the graceful and grand spiral staircase that ascends to the three floors of the Sky Lobby through an atrium of wrought iron handrails and glass windows.

Restaurant Amar serves modern Portuguese cuisine, and its emphasis on seafood is matched by Boston's history of seafaring culture – in the 19th century, many Portuguese immigrants came to southeastern Massachusetts to work in whaling and fishing, and the city still has a well-known Portuguese community. Chef Mendes himself grew up in New England and comes from a Portuguese family, and in this softly lit, intimate space, a menu of modern Portuguese cuisine pays homage to his heritage and his New England roots.

There is a sauna, a steam bath and ice showers. Guerlain products are used throughout the process, and one of the signature treatments is the "Boston Energy" massage, which uses Guerlain balm, oils and hot stones to relieve the stiffness, soreness and dullness of city life.
