The boutique hotel MOLLIE is named after Aspen's most successful silver mine, Mollie Gibson, which originated in the late 19th century and was the catalyst for the town's early economic, social, and cultural prosperity. Inspired by Bauhaus artist and architect Her·bert Bayer, MOLLIE is a special community organized around art and culture. The essence of MOLLIE is a tribute to Bayer's work.
The MOLLIE is located in Paepcke Park in downtown Aspen, within reach of 4 ski slopes. DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM THE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE SHAPED ASPEN THROUGHOUT HISTORY, KNOWN FOR THEIR RELENTLESS PASSION FOR THE OUTDOORS, THEIR ABILITY TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER, AND THEIR PASSION FOR THE FREE EXPRESSION OF ART, DESIGN, MOLLIE IS A PLACE THAT RESPECTS THE OUTDOORS AND ENCOURAGES ADVENTURE WHILE PROVIDING GUESTS WITH A LUXURIOUS EXPERIENCE. It is a place that believes in simplicity, subtle beauty, and freedom. The hotel is designed for those who are naturally curious and appreciate intimacy.
Designed by Post Company, a renowned New York design firm, the interior design is inspired by Aspen's heritage, blending the comforts of a welcoming home with a modern touch. A meticulous design approach reduces the overuse of interior décor, with interiors utilising local materials from Aspen and featuring natural wood, terracotta ceramics and hand-dyed textiles.
ART AND CRAFTSMANSHIP ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF MOLLIE'S DESIGN AND ETHOS. Hand-dyed tapestries, inspired by the work of Anni Albers and Agnes Martin, will be prominently displayed in the lobby to welcome guests.
